"Doccio a Matteo, the highest site at Caparsa at around 450m (1,475ft), has produced a stunner in the relatively mild, fresh conditions of 2018. The nose is vibrant with scarlet fruit – morello cherry and cranberry – edged with nervous tones of green peppercorn, catnip and wild thyme. The entry is luxuriantly satiny and complex, its sparkling core of styrax, violet and white pepper plushly wrapped in red fruit and glycerol. The mid-palate brings springy silk-organza tannins, lifted and shaped by acidity then tapering to a gentle close."
