2020

IGT Mimma 2020 wine is produced from a luxurious selection of Sangiovese from Vigne di Caparsa, IGT Toscana Rosso

Mimma is the nickname of Gianna, lifelong companion of Paolo Cianferoni, artisan winemaker, mother of his children and supporting lintel of the Caparsa microcosm just outside Radda in Chianti. But there is more: Mimma ARE all the women of Caparsa. To them, in fact, it is dedicated. And perhaps it is because of this clear declination of gender encapsulated in the intimacies of a tribute if the sangiovese here, the result of a rabid selection of grapes, takes a particularly sentimental turn. Crisp red fruits such as currants, wild strawberries and pomegranate kernels in the main profile. In the background, pressed red flowers, cinnamon powder and cloves. On the palate, medium-full body, polished tannins and a taut, vibrant finish. Drink now or age. Mimma '20 is pulled in a limited number of bottles, alas. The label depicts a tangle of rosehips, from the roots to the sky, contrasting thorny appearances with the heady scents of life.
